What certification standards does the SGC-EX-M comply with?

CNEX Certification (Primary):

Marking: Ex d IIC T6 Gb / Ex tD A21 IP68 T80°C

Certificate No.: CNEx21.0757

Standard: GB 3836.1-2021, GB 3836.2-2021

What does IP68 waterproof rating mean for this camera?

IP68 is the highest ingress protection rating per IEC 60529:2013 standard:

  • 6 = Dust-tight: No ingress of dust
  • 8 = Continuous submersion: Protected against immersion beyond 1 meter depth

The SGC-EX-M was tested at 1.5 meters depth for 30 minutes at a CNEX-designated laboratory, exceeding the minimum IP68 requirement.

Test report available upon request | Standard: IEC 60529:2013

What are the optimal conditions for utilizing an explosion-proof camera like the SGC-EX-M?

The SGC-EX-M is designed for Zone 1/21 hazardous areas with explosive gas or dust atmospheres per GB 3836.14-2021.

Ideal applications include:

  • Oil refineries and gas processing plants
  • Chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Grain silos and food processing facilities
  • Military and defense installations

Its compact design (110×106×90mm, 1.6kg) enables installation in space-constrained locations where larger explosion-proof housings cannot fit.

How does CNEX certification differ from ATEX for global deployments?

CNEX is China's national explosion protection certification body per GB 3836 series standards.

ATEX is the European Union directive (2014/34/EU) for equipment in explosive atmospheres.

Technical comparison:

Protection Concept Both use Ex d (flameproof enclosure)
Gas Group Both support IIC (most hazardous gases)
Temperature Class Both support T6 (≤85°C surface temp)

For deployments outside China, verify local regulatory acceptance of CNEX certificates or request dual-certification options.

Testing of the flame-proof infrared lamp:

    • a. Irradiation Distance: There is no national standard for the radiation distance of explosion-proof infrared lamps. The overall quality is judged based on the distance it's placed from the Zebra Board. The effective distance of the same explosion-protected infrared lamp varies greatly in different night vision systems. For this reason, a separate, targeted test evaluation must be performed for the effective distance.
    • b. Test Conditions: Ambient illumination from flameproof infrared lamps should be less than 0.001 lux (averaged at 550 nm) and weather visibility should be greater than 10 km.
    • c. Test Equipment: A lens with F=1.5~2.0, a black and white camera with low illumination (0.1Lux), a one-meter zebra board, power supply, display device, etc.
    • d. Test Method: After debugging the camera monitoring system, turn on the flameproof infrared lamp and illuminate the zebra board at a distance of 10 meters from the front. After adjusting the image clearly, move the zebra board back until it becomes invisible. At this point, the effective distance X0.6 from the camera to the zebra board is the effective distance of the flameproof infrared lamp for this equipment.
